Every hand in a poker game will be dealt with each time with the whole pack of the cards. 52 cards in it. Let say we all have a pretty much equal chance of being dealt a winning hand. If we all are willing to wait (tight or super tight play), we pretty much will share '' good'' and ''bad'' cards and also money equally between us. Somehow there are winning players and losers, who acting like ATM machines for those who win.
Are winning players lucky? Lucky every time then they sitting down to play? There is not possible in a poker game to calculate out the best opening hand. Even if you are playing only EV+ cards preflop. In every betting round – flop, turn and river – it might change. Your opening premium hand might not turn out such a premium anymore. It is not possible to count out cards what left in play. You have no idea what kind of the cards others are holding – even if you are pretty sure about your hand reading skills. Truth is, only five cards of the pack are visible before the hand goes showdown. And plus two cards you are holding in our hand. The other 45 cards and their position remain mysterious. Where all the cards are? In pack or in somebody's hand? Who is holding what? Time of the time everybody will get Aces or 72 off.
Each player has their own way to play them out too. It might depend on their mood, their financial situation, their best decision – who knows? One day you might catch them sit down and play pink glasses on their nose, another day whole world looks like the darkest place in-universe for them. Maybe they just had a payday, maybe they are counting their last cents before payday. Nobody can play A game only 24 hours straight. Maybe player next to You just don't know when to finish and is struggling between their B and C game right now.? Not only all players and their present mood or situation are different, but each poker table develops its own group dynamics and it will changes as new players enter and the old player will leave. In live play, you can get the time and you will see the present appearance of the players, but online you will miss both of them. What to do?
Is the solution to start the hunt? Might be...
There is my hunting strategy right now = based on HUD readings.
PREFLOP – two cards are known from 52
I still, try to follow my + EV opening hands charts as much I can or feel or remember to look. Discussed here https://www.pokeryear-microcashgame.com/2019/06/ev-game-part-1.html
Another thing to look is habits:
RFI (raised first in). Based on this STAT you will get a good idea of how loose or tight a player is.
RFI + 75. habitual loose player,
RFI – 10, habitual tight player First player is opening almost with any two cards, the second one is so afraid to play their cards out.................................
RFI – 10, habitual tight player First player is opening almost with any two cards, the second one is so afraid to play their cards out.................................
Fold to 3 bet + 75, no matter how tight or loose they are...................................
4 bet HiGH + 10, This player fights back often..........................................
Squeeze + 10, This player is a hunter. He/she knows what they are doing and not afraid to use it, or overusing this move. Then you have decent holding ...................
PREFLOP GAME AGAINST BLINDS.
3 bet Steal + 10. This player is fighting back to your steal......................
3 bet Steal – 5 This player doesn't care about their crap hands........................................
STEAL – 25 They had it finally – Premium hand.....................................
STEAL + 75. This player will try to steal with any two cards.......................................
FTS (fold to steal) + 75........................................
FLOP – five cards are known from 52
Cbet + 75, habitual c bettor, probably betting with any two cards, not even care if hit or miss..........................
Cbet – 25, passive player. He/ She might hold something or might not.......................................
Fold to Cbet + 75, player, who is willing fold under pressure..........................................
Fold to Cbet – 25, the player is defending too much.................................
TURN – 6 cards known from 52.
Further, you are in hand, most likely somebody did hit something or not willing give up their hand anyway. Get rid of all the draws, high cards and maybe even one pair holdings then opponent(s) are aggressive. Do not bluff blindly – there must be a reason why they are still in-game.
OTHER IMPORTANT STATS
WTSD (went to showdown) – 25 They will crack under pressure. ................................
WTSD + 75 Typical calling station. ..........................
River Call +75. This player is just not able to fold the river. Even their hand might turn from premium to crap after three streets...............................
If you are not hunting – You will get hunted
GOOD LUCK!
